Thank you from the Butternut Center!

A sincere thank you to all who volunteered, donated, wrapped gifts, hefted boxes to and from the party, cooked, served, cleaned up . . . it was a very successful event on December 17th.

A huge thank you goes out to all the businesses that supported our event:  Sugarman law firm, U.S. Marine Corp Toys 4 Tots, DOT Foods, Deli Boy, Frito Lay, Burger King, Change of Pace, Pavone’s Pizza, Italian Chef, Original Italian Pizza, Price Chopper, Wegmans, WalMart, Father’s Heart Ministries, Byrne Dairy, Syracuse Academy of Science, Refugee Assistance Program @ 501 Park St, Holy Trinity/St John the Baptist church, The Bridge Syracuse, DiLauro’s Bakery, Northside Community Police Center, City of Syracuse, forgive us if we have forgotten someone!  As you see, this was most definitely a COMMUNITY effort that really exemplified the heart and soul of this Christmas Season.  We fed approximately 430 persons, gave away about 300 gifts, the children got balloon animals/objects, each family received a group photo with Santa and a Police Officer.  The leftover food went to four refugee families and the Oxford Inn to feed the homeless.

This was the largest event that the Butternut Community Policing Center has seen to date, but it was only a starting point for things to come.  We look forward to working with you all again in 2011.
